The ASEAN Cuisine Festival 2016 kicked off at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on April 1, with about 110 booths showcasing the cultures and traditional foods of all ten ASEAN member states.
Viet Nam’s booth received great attention from visitors with the distinctive tastes of the country’s traditional dishes and photos of Vietnamese people and landscapes.
During the opening night, a dance with the song “Viet Nam que huong toi” (Viet Nam, my homeland) in the background was performed by Vietnamese students donned in “non la” (Vietnamese conical hat).
The festival was organised by the French-based Pour un Sourire d’Enfant, a non-profit organisation that provides support to children in partnership with Cambodian ministries.
The two-day event aims to raise funds for charitable activities from ticket sales.
